POPIA Compliance Declaration

This POPIA Compliance Declaration outlines BluePeople’s commitment to the lawful, transparent, secure, and responsible processing of personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”) of South Africa.

BluePeople Membership User Platform, operated under Public Price Foundation, is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy, confidentiality, and lawful processing of personal information belonging to users, members, affiliates, partners, employees, contractors, visitors, and other stakeholders.

BluePeople acknowledges the importance of data protection and undertakes to process personal information in a responsible, secure, transparent, and lawful manner in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”) and other applicable laws.

BluePeople aims to implement reasonable technical, operational, and organisational measures to safeguard personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, unlawful disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

This Declaration applies to all personal information collected, stored, processed, transmitted, shared, or managed through:

  • BluePeople websites and digital platforms
  • User registration systems
  • Membership and affiliate systems
  • Blue AI and digital tools
  • Customer support channels

  • Online forms and applications
  • Internal operational processes

BluePeople undertakes to process personal information in accordance with the lawful processing principles contemplated under POPIA, including:

While BluePeople takes reasonable security precautions, no online system, website, database, network, or digital platform can guarantee absolute security against all cyber threats, unauthorised access, or technical incidents.

  • Hosting and cloud infrastructure providers

BluePeople does not sell personal information to third parties.

BluePeople may designate an Information Officer or responsible privacy representative to oversee compliance, information management practices, and data protection obligations under POPIA.

BluePeople may amend or update this POPIA Compliance Declaration from time to time to reflect operational, legal, regulatory, technological, or policy changes.

Updated versions will be published on the Platform and continued use of BluePeople services constitutes acceptance of such updates.
